A number of years ago the Taylors Falls Historical Society won a national award for the quality publication, Life & Times in Taylors Falls, under the leadership of then-editor Clarence Nelson. Begun in 1994, issues have featured articles and photographs of the town’s changes and progress through the decades.

Today, the society continues to produce the Life & Times on a bi-annual basis. Journal subscriptions offered for U.S. residents at $15.00 per year (2 issues), or free to current TFHS members. Back issues are available: $5.00 plus $2.00 postage per copy. Write: Life & Times, PO Box 333, Taylors Falls, MN  55084-0333.

There is so much history in Taylors Falls that still needs to be discovered, researched and shared. We are looking for people with a strong interest in Taylors Falls history who are willing to aid in publishing the Life & Times. Our greatest need is for writers to utilize information that can be supplied from existing files and /or found via future research by the writers or others. Good writing ability would be a big plus! But we seek more than just writers.

It would be helpful if we had volunteers (writers and non-writers) who are willing to occasionally do some research in the local newspapers, at the county courthouse in Center City, at the Chisago County Historical Society facility in Lindstrom, at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul, etc.. Internet researchers would also be helpful. Even assistance of just a few hours once or twice a year would be appreciated.

If you or someone you know would be interested in helping with the Life & Times, contact Fay Caneday at 651-329-0985 or email.
